Blog

Writing about whatever comes to mind. I mostly write about economics, and the books that I am reading at the moment. My favorite blogs are of course the Freakonomics Blog, Gary Becker's Blog with Richard Posner, and Robin Hanson's Overcoming Bias. This gives me a platform to discuss ideas and formulate arguments in a pretty casual way. This hopefully helps me summarize my thoughts and notes in an orderly fashion, and engage with the reader.

Academic

Here you can find (almost) all of the essays I have written for Uni. Some of them I am quite proud of, some of them were admittedly written on the night before handing them in. Most of my essays are about defending Rational Choice Theory (RCT). I am a micro economist interested in social issues. If you get excited about utility functions for vegan Instagram user, threshhold models for public protests, and/or risk aversion in educational attainment for different socioeconomic classes, then I'll guess you'll enjoy some of my essays. They were written in my MSc studies in sociology and finance, and in my PPE Bsc.

Chess

Follow me on my long road to a Fide Title. My aim is to become a Fide Mater (FM) with 2300 ELO. I have now about 1650 ELO on Lichess (which I know is a bit different to the actual Fide ELO). I'll post videos and analysis of games there as a commitment device. Lets hope this gets me closer to my goal

Podcasts

I am pretty excited about the podcast section. On so many occasions I meet a fascinating person, but it's just not the right occasion to delve into 1 hour discussion on a niche topic (I mostly do that anyway). This can be the platform where I invite people from uni, friends and yet to become friends to talk about their academic or professional work.  Again, this can be a fun commitment device for me to take that hour to listen and interview people, that I know have interesting things to say, things I want to know.
